      Shore Bulldogs - a team without a home
      Local semipro football team operating at a disadvantage
            The Shore Bulldogs semipro football team out of Middletown played its "home" opener this past Sunday against the New Jersey Wolves of Plainfield. The only problem is that the Bulldogs don't have a home field, at least not yet.

      Dream season continues for Monroe 8-year-olds
            The Summer of Dreams continues for the Monroe 8-year-old All-Stars as they took home the Cal Ripken State championship by beating Flemington, 7-0, in the championship game on Saturday morning. Monroe advanced to the championship game by beating Edison twice, Mount Olive and Middletown during the week.

            The Kool Kids Bowling League (a league for special-needs children/young adults and their siblings ages 2 and up) sponsored by SEPTA of South River, will hold open registrations on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2-3 p.m. at Majestic Lanes, 525 Route 9, Hopelawn. Registration fee is $10 per child. The league will bowl for 18 weeks on Saturdays 2-4 p.m. Weekly bowling fees will be charged.

      Rumored quotas threaten to hurt local fishermen
            According to my friend Capt. Ed at NJSaltwaterfisherman.com, the word is out that the National Marine Fisheries Services (NMFS) is talking about a 30-40 percent quota cut for the 2008 season. Capt.
