The water tower on Route 522 in Monroe is getting a new paint job inside and out this summer. The National Science Foundation-approved paints are an epoxy coating on the inside and a cloud white acrylic finish on the exterior, Monroe Township Municipal Utilities Authority Executive Director Michael Rogers said. The $379,900 project should be finished within a month. A group of college students painted a large American flag on the tower shortly after Sept. 11, 2001, and officials are open to offers to have a flag painted over the new finish.JEFF GRANIT staff The water tower on Route 522 in Monroe is getting a new paint job inside and out this summer.
