      BCC women start season ranked No. 3 in nation
            Brookdale Community College's (BCC) women's soccer team began the 2007 season as a marked squad. As if being the national runner-up last year weren't enough, Frank Lawrence's Jersey Blues began the season No. 3 in the junior college coaches' poll. That's just fine with him.

      BCC men have added depth, talent for '07 run
            When Mike Costa took over as the head coach of the Brookdale Community College men's soccer team last year, he had just 15 days to prepare for the 2006 season. This time around, he's had an entire year to build the 2007 Jersey Blues.

      Bombers looking for a repeat performance
            The Sayreville High School boys soccer team is off to a 1-1 start as it looks to defend its Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) White Division title. Coach Nick Cifelli's Bombers opened the year with a 4-2 loss to division rival Monroe, as Kene Eze, who scored 16 goals last season, posted both markers for the Bombers.

            The Milltown Baseball Program, a chartered Little League Baseball Program since 1953, has announced that the program will expand to include girls softball. The softball program will include clinics, instructional video, regular season games as well as tournament play.

      Youngsters hit the high seas in search of a big catch
      Fish On
            John and Diane O'Connor from East Brunswick took the family on their first party boat bluefish fishing trip. They went out on the Miss Belmar Princess. Son Max and daughter Jackie caught their first bluefish on jigs. Nephew Mike Crispiano of Staten Island, N.Y., caught his first as well. His sister, Marisa, was the best with three blues.
