Board thanks Eagle Scout for rehab of playground

      EAST BRUNSWICK - Children using the Bowne-Munro School playground have local Boy Scouts to thank for the area's newly improved condition. The playground has suffered from poor drainage over the years, leaving areas full of uneven sand, according to Sameer Sood, 18, who led the effort to rehabilitate the playground in August.

Monroe residents asked to name that school
      MONROE - School officials are asking residents to help them come up with a name for the elementary school being built on Applegarth Road. The school, which was approved in a $26.8 million referendum in January 2006, is being constructed on 30 acres of donated land across the street from the Applegarth Middle School. It is expected to open in September 2008.
