      Sayreville boys soccer not able to match last year's success

            It's been a bit of an up-and-down season so far for the Sayreville War Memorial High School boys soccer team, as coach Nick Cifelli's Bombers have compiled a 7-5 record.

      O.B. boys soccer is trying to find its way
            After getting out of the gate with a 2-7 start, the Old Bridge High School boys soccer team has won two in a row, posting wins over Sayreville and J.P. Stevens, the latter in double overtime. As a result, the Knights still have a shot at qualifying for the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV playoffs.

            The U10 Old Bridge Hurricanes participated in the Columbus Day Wall Tournament with good results, placing second in their bracket. The Hurricanes had one win and three ties. The Hurricanes put forth a great defensive effort and only allowed one goal in four games.

      Weakfish abound along the Raritan River
            After a foggy start out of the Raritan and a bit of hunting, the crew of the Island Girl finally found what they were looking for: hungry weakfish. Bill Lee, Rich and Carmine Nuzzolo, along with Kerry Smith and Rich Malkowsky found quality fish in the 3-5-pound range. Rich Malkowsky was the high hook, taking his limit of these speckled beauties.
