Monroe officials recognize importance of the arts
The recent performance of the American Repertory Ballet in Monroe is one of a number of events and programs planned by our Cultural Arts Commission. The caliber of the performances is first-rate, and the variety of programming is phenomenal. For the rest of the season, we can forward to opera, ethic-dance performances, a swing band, as well as art classes, art lectures and a juried art show.
The dedicated members of the Cultural Arts Commission deserve our applause. And I am also grateful to Mayor Richard Pucci and the Township Council for their commitment to support the arts. In these times of tight municipal budgets, our elected officials understand the importance of the arts to the quality of life here in Monroe.
