Obituaries Lorraine F. Bartol Wenstel Mrs. Wenstel, 74, of South River, died Oct. 1, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, John Wenstel; three daughters, Christine Feret, and her husband, Ronald, of Memphis, Tenn., Joanne Hutchens, and her husband, John, of the Toms River section of Dover and Karen Burnett, and her husband, Todd of Easton, Pa.; a brother, Edward Bartol of Bridgewater; a sister, Barbara Joseph of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Margaret "Peg" Hayes Biggins Mrs. Biggins, 63, of South River, died Oct. 9, 2007, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Somerset and Edison, prior to relocating to South River in 1971. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church, South River. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, and Boy Scout Den Leader in South River. She enjoyed collecting bears. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert J. Biggins Jr.; a daughter, Margaret M. Biggins of North Brunswick; two sons and one daughter-in-law, William R. and Penny Biggins of Manville, and Robert J. Biggins III of South River; a sister, Barbara C. Hayes of South River; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Ronald S. Dutka Mr. Dutka, 66, of South Brunswick, died Oct. 12, 2007, at home. Born in New Brunswick he resided there prior to relocating to South Brunswick 13 years ago. He was a landlord at several properties in the New Brunswick area for more than 20 years, retiring in 2001. Prior to that, he was a lineman at Public Service Electric and Gas. He served with the U.S. Navy during the late 1950s. He enjoyed hunting, archery, fishing and horseshoes. He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Grippo Dutka; two daughters, Christine Green of Old Bridge, and Victoria Brinkerhoff of Spotswood; a son, Ronald Dutka Jr. of Spotswood; a stepdaughter, Jeanette Roberts of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Burial was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Mental Health America, P.O. Box 16810, Alexandria, VA 22302-0810. Robert J. DeLisle Mr. DeLisle, 81, of Middletown, died Oct. 14, 2007, in Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Bell Labs, Holmdel, where he worked for 39 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill. He was predeceased by his wife, Alverna M., in 1994. Surviving are his companion, Jean Walton; a brother, Harold of Boulder, Colo.; and a sister, Carol Myers of East Brunswick. A memorial gathering was held at Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Kenneth C. Kalafor Mr. Kalafor, 60, of South River, died Oct. 3, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his father, Casimir Kalafor, and by his mother, Stacia Arciszewski Kalafor Landers. Surviving are his stepfather, Gurney Landers of South River; an aunt, Connie Apel, also of South River; his primary care-giving cousins, Vincent J., Loretta M., Jeffrey M. Gostkowski and Rosemary Hague; and other many other aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Daniel J. McElroy Mr. McElroy, 59, of Milltown, died Oct. 8, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was the chief executive officer and founder of Priority Distribution Inc., East Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lorretta Dobbins McElroy. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Lloyd McElroy; a son, Andrew McElroy of New Brunswick; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rita and Larry Lloyd of Milltown; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Phyllis Lloyd of Branchburg; and a brother, Frank. A funeral liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Lawrence Staloff Mr. Staloff, 93, of Monroe, died Oct. 12, 2007, in The Medical Center at Princeton. Surviving are his wife, Miriam Newman Lawrence; two children, Leonard Staloff of Marlboro and Rhona Koral of Levittown, N.Y.; a brother, Fred Staloff of Secaucus; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Louise Banko Mrs. Banko, 71, of Lakewood, formerly of North Brunswick and New Brunswick, died Oct. 11, 2007, at her daughter's home in East Brunswick. Her husband, Robert J. Banko, died in 1977. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Conover of East Brunswick, Cindi Banko and Terry and Andy Wilcox, all of the Toms River section of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Alice Banko of Little Egg Harbor; and 13 grandchildren. A liturgy was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Route 1, North Brunswick NJ 08902-4326. Kathi Rae Farrell Mrs. Farrell, 54, of Monroe, died Oct. 12, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. An English teacher and English department chairwoman for seven years at Cardinal McCarrick High School, South Amboy, she also taught for four years at Applegarth Middle School, Monroe. Surviving are her husband, Patrick Farrell; two sons, Timothy Farrell of New Providence and Brian T. Farrell of Sackets Harbor, N.Y., and a daughter, Meghan Farrell of Monroe. Services were held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Henry Fegeley Jr. Mr. Fegeley, 61, of East Brunswick, died Oct. 13, 2007, in Briarwood Care Center, Parlin section of Sayreville. His wife, Annmarie, died in 2006. Surviving are two sons, Steven and Richard of Jacksonville, Fla; three daughters, Michele Sodano and Lynnmarie Conti, both of Old Bridge, and Nancy Cosgrove of Jacksonville; a sister, Doris Hatton of West Chester, Pa.; and nine grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. |
