      Daisy Walk, Halloween Carnival coming to E.B.
            The fifth annual Camp Daisy Walk in the Park and Halloween Carnival will begin at noon on Oct. 28 in Bicentennial Park, Hardenburg Lane, East Brunswick. The event, which is sponsored by the Daisy Association, will raise funds to support existing recreation programs and to develop new programs for people with special needs.

            The Spotswood Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Vendor Night from 6- 10 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Main Street Firehouse.       Spotswood to impose curfew for Oct. 30, 31
            Mayor Barry H. Zagnit recently announced that the borough of Spotswood will continue its past practice of imposing a 9 p.m. curfew on Oct. 30 (Mischief Night) and Oct. 31 (Halloween). The curfew will apply to all individuals age 16 and under.

      Environmental panel to sponsor nature walk
            The Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership (LBWP) will host a 4-Mile Nature Walk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27 in Bicentennial Park, Riva Avenue and Hardenburg Lane, East Brunswick, and in wooded areas of Farrington Lake.             The annual Colonial Fair is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 10 at First Presbyterian Church, 45 Market St., Perth Amboy.             Ican't believe what I was told. A homeless man who was sleeping in the New Brunswick railroad station was picked up and fined $250. He must either pay the fine or go to jail. Considering all our religious and sanctimonious elected officials, wouldn't you think that they would have provided a humanitarian solution to house homeless men?

            East Brunswick commuter Madeline Molinari recently addressed the Township Council on commuter issues, making a number of requests. For example, she asked that bus drivers make audible announcements when stuck in traffic; bus schedules be improved; parking spaces be restriped above the fifth floor at Tower Center, where she said there is no room to maneuver vehicles.
