The Sayreville High School girls soccer team will be looking to get back to its winning ways when the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV playoffs start next week. The Bombers have qualified thanks to a 10-7-1 overall mark, but they won't know who their opponent will be until the seedings are announced tomorrow. More ... The Old Bridge High School girls volleyball team will meet J.P. Stevens this afternoon in the semifinals of the Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) Tournament. After receiving a first-round bye, the third-seeded Lady Knights defeated Mother Seton Regional High School, 2-0, in the quarterfinals on Monday. Old Bridge won its two matches by scores of 25-21 and 25-13. More ... Rutgers needed this one. After putting together the most successful season in school history a year ago, the Scarlet Knights had seen a little bit of the shine come off their armor this season with disappointing back-toback losses to Maryland and Cincinnati after starting out 3-0. More ... The Monroe U13 Lady Falcons won a pair of basketball games this past week to improve to 3-1 in Mid Monmouth League play. The girls handed Colts Neck its first loss with a 23-20 victory. Monroe's defense was very stingy, holding Colts Neck's high scoring offense to 20 points. More ... |
