      Tickets available for library jazz event
            The Monroe Township Library annual Jazz Event is set for 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the library, 4 Municipal Plaza. Tickets are still available. The evening of music will feature pianist John Bianculli, vocalist Deb Lyons and percussionist Tom Baker. Desserts will be provided by Cranberry's Gourmet.

      Adults invited to bowl for children with cancer
            The first Prodigal Foundation Inc. Adult Bowling Tournament to benefit children affected by cancer will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 10 at Woodbridge Bowling Center, 346 Main St. All individuals, regardless of skill level, are invited to participate. The tournament will have two divisions.

            The St. Bernadette's Altar Rosary Society Flea Market is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the church's O'Dea Hall, Princeton and Villanova roads, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Refreshments will be sold. There will be a 50/50 drawing.

      Dining at Applebee's to aid performing arts
            The East Brunswick High School Performing Arts Parents Association (PAPA) will sponsor a Dining to Donate fundraiser from 11 a.m. to midnight on Nov. 7 at Applebee's of Milltown, Milltown Road and Ryders Lane. Patrons should present a Dining to Donate flier at the restaurant. Applebee's will then donate a percentage of supporters' bills to PAPA.

            Messiah Lutheran Church, 3091 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville, will hold an Indoor Flea Market and Youth Group Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 3. Proceeds, which will be matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, will go to the church's renovation fund.

            Community Programs, an enterprise of East Brunswick Public Schools, is offering East Brunswick boys and girls in secondeighth grades the opportunity to participate in a Knights Hoops Festival on Nov. 8 and 9, the New Jersey Education Association teacher convention days. The program for youngsters in grades 2-5 will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

            Jamesburg Elks Lodge No. 2180 will sponsor an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner at 6 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the lodge, 74 W. Railroad Ave. The menu will feature spaghetti, meatballs, sausage, garlic bread, salad and dessert. Cost is $10 per person.
