      Overtime playoff drama for East Brunswick

On Oct. 26, East Brunswick handed the Raiders their first loss of the season, a 3-1 defeat in a semifinal game of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament. North Brunswick eventually lost to fourth-seeded Howell 2-1 on Tuesday.

      Fish On
      Bass fishing starting to come alive in area
            Surf reports from Ortley Beach north to the Sandy Hook rips are finally producing some keeper size bass. Wind conditions made it tough to get out but anglers off the surf made up for it. Heavier rods and weight were able to produce bass from 12-18 pounds. According to surf anglers, there are plenty of bass headed our way.

      Sports Shorts
            The Cheesequake Baseball League will be holding registration for the 2007/2008 incoming season. In person registration will be held on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 15 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Cheesequake Fields located on Route 9 North and Schulmeister Road in Old Bridge.
