      Sayreville track teams building toward the postseason
            The Sayreville High School boys and girls winter track teams are busily preparing for the upcoming NJSIAA Relays on Sunday as well as the Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) Relays set for Feb. 1. Both events will be held at the Jersey City Armory.

            The Old Bridge High School boys and girls swimming teams are both off to slowstarts, but coachBobWeiss is confident his swimmers can turn things around. The Knights opened the campaign by winning the co-ed Wardlaw Relays for the third straight year.

      Anglers looking forward to plenty of fish in 2008
            With the 2007 season behind us, I look forward to an even better one ahead in 2008. Last yearwas a year with big fish in all categories. To start, bait fish like peanut bunkers are the true reason why we all enjoyed a great year. Peanuts were in the hundreds of millions along the entire coast and enjoyed warmer ocean temps formost of the year.
