Urges residents to speak out against budget

At 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the East Brunswick municipal building, our mayor is going to present his new budget. We need as many people as possible to attend this meeting to either speak up or support those who speak against the budget.

The mayor and his Township Council of puppets (not including David Stahl) must be told that we will no longer tolerate the large increases in our taxes. Most people now are cutting back on their own budgets. Many people who work in the private sector are not getting raises and are fortunate to have a job. Freeze raises, make town employees pay more toward their health insurance. only purchase equipment that is absolutely necessary, cut back on library hours, etc. I don't care what the unions say - if there is no extra money, they cannot get everything they want.

The way our taxes are going up, nobody will be able to sell his or her home. Why should people move into this town when they can live in another town in the county that has lower taxes and their schools are equal in status?

Most people in state, county and municipal jobs in New Jersey get a free ride with their pensions and benefits on the backs of East Brunswick residents.
