      Scouting teaches kids to aid community
            In honor of the recent anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, I wanted to share a bit about Scouting. I am in Cub Scout Pack No. 33, which is sponsored by the United Methodist Church in Milltown. In Scouting, I learn to help others and my community and do my duty to God and my country.

            Your recent editorial on library funding and municipalbudget caps ("Library Funding Hikes, Budget Caps Don't Mesh," Sentinel, Jan. 31) gave a balanced assessment of the situation created by having funding for municipal libraries under the new cap legislation.

      Are additional town amenities worth the long-term cost?
            Ihave been following with interest the discussions on East Brunswick's community center and performing arts center, and all the back-and-forth on funding, grants for construction costs, use of taxpayers' money, etc.

      Protect, preserve and restore Forney House
            Iread the most recent article concerning the Forney House in Milltown (Sentinel, Feb. 21) and the legal struggle to save it from demolition. Historical buildings have great value and purpose.
