            Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick, and New Brunswick Recreation invite the community to Just for the Health of It, a family fair set for 2-9 p.m. on May 17 in Buccleuch Park, Easton Avenue, New Brunswick, across from the hospital. Saint Peter's will present a fireworks display at 8:30 p.m. in honor of the hospital's 100th anniversary.

            The Little House Association of South River will hold its annual Tricky Tray beginning at 8 p.m. on May 16 at Veterans of ForeignWars Post No. 1451, 31 Reid St., South River.       Library to mark Israel's 60th anniversary in film
            The East Brunswick Public Library, in partnership with the local Jewish community, will host screenings of the Hebrew romantic comedy "Like a Fish Out of Water" at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. on May 20 at the library, Jean Walling Civic Center. The film is the second in a series to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel.

      Drama club to present 'Beauty and the Beast'
            The St. Bartholomew School Curtain Time Drama Club will stage its production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at 7 p.m. on May 22 and 24 in the school auditorium, 470 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick.             The Saint Peter's University Hospital Hepatitis Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. on May 21 in the third-floor conference room at the Center for Ambulatory Resources (CARES) Building, 254 Easton Ave., New Brunswick, adjacent to the hospital. The group meets on the third Wednesday of every month.

      Dinner to benefit teen recovering from cancer
            A spaghetti dinner will be held May 30 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Bart's Church, 460 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, to benefit Tommie Lukowski, an 18-year-old township resident recovering from cancer treatments. Tommie, who learned last fall that he had a malignant tumor in his arm, underwent three months of chemotherapy, and then 13 hours of surgery on Jan. 30.

      Registration under way for Milltown rec trips
            TheMilltown Department of Recreation will sponsor a variety of upcoming events. All trips and programs are open to residents and nonresidents. A "Wine Tasting on the Mountain" trip to Alba Winery, Milford, is set for May 18. The bus will depart at 11:30 a.m. from Borough Hall.             A One Step Closer Walk for Leukodystrophy to benefit The Stennis Foundation, a nationwide nonprofit organization based in Amarillo, Texas, is set to begin at 1 p.m. on May 17 at Lombardi Field at Old Bridge High School, Route 516 and Cottrell Road. Sign-in and late registration will begin at noon. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund leukodystrophies research.
