      Applications available at Chinese-language school

      Mid-Jersey Chinese School, a nonprofit organization offering Chinese-language instruction and cultural classes for adults and children, is accepting applications for 2008- 09 enrollment. Classes are held at Churchill Junior High School, East Brunswick.

      Instruction in traditional Mandarin, practical Chinese (Mandarin) and Cantonese is available.Classes also are available for students who do not speak Chinese at home.

      The school is certified by the East Brunswick Board of Education, and studentsmay earn high school foreign-language credit if they attain certain proficiency levels in an oral and written test conducted by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language.
