      Monroe ends state tourney with 3-2 loss to Mid South
            Things can change very quickly in softball and it literally is a game of inches. That's how close the Monroe High School softball team is to winning the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III championship. The Falcons put together a 2-0 lead in the first inning against Middletown South on a Kelsey Schobert's bloop single, but left the bases loaded.

            Former Rutgers standout Cappie Pondexter has been named a member of the 2008 U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball Team, it was announced by USA Basketball last week. Pondexter, competing in her first Olympic games, was one of nine names revealed on in a press conference in Washington, D.C.

            It seems that everyone has the bluefish blues. The RaritanBay is producing very few, if any, keeper bass. This time last year you could not miss catching a trophy bass. Bass are being caught but they are few and far between.
