      Florek caps career with second straight MOC title
            The Old Bridge High School spring track team completed an outstanding campaign by winning the Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) Relays as well as the GMC championship. In addition, Brian Florek won the state championship in the javelin with a throw of 201 feet 1 inch, marking the second year in a row he has accomplished this feat.

      St. Joe's baseball ends season with GMC crown
            A3-2 win over Old Bridge gave the St. Joseph's High School baseball team its third Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament title in the past five years. Left fielder George Gonzalez, the game's Most Valuable Player, came up with a pair of clutch hits, including the game-winner in the seventh inning.

      Falcons complete 43-win season with a state title
            Anear-perfect season came to a perfect end last week when the St. Joseph's High School volleyball teamdefeated St. Peter's Prep of JerseyCity in theNJSIAA Volleyball Championship. For the Falcons, it was their 43rd straight win and improved their season record to 43-1.

      It may take time to spot fluke, stripers
            So far, it's a slow pick for fluke and stripers, with water temperatures ranging between 58 and 65 degrees as the days quickly warmed up. Both fluke and bass boats worked up and down along Sandy Hook this week, covering miles of ground with few keepers to speak of in both categories.
