Since Sentinel reader Frank Di Bello is advocating a pay-as-you-go society where individuals fund only the programs that directly benefit them ("Resident Wants To Know Why Seniors Have To Pay School Taxes," Letters to the Editor, June 19), I want to stop paying for Social Security and Medicare. More ... This is in response to the letter to the editor from Sheldon Rossman ("Defeat of School Budget Demonstrates Social Irresponsibility") that appeared in the June 12 issue of the Sentinel. One of the most precious tenets of our republic is the right to participate in our governmental process by voting. More ... This is in response to Taj Ahmad's letter to the editor (Sentinel, May 8) suggesting removing the "sex" from Middlesex, Sussex and Essex. There is no reason to take "sex" from Middlesex or any of the other New Jersey counties for that matter. The question I have for you is, Why now? Why now, after having these names for hundreds of years, is someone complaining about them? More ... |
