Historic church to present free concerts
      Music at Historic Christ Church, 5 Paterson St., New Brunswick, will offer two upcoming free concerts for the community. "Let Freedom Ring!" is set for 11 a.m. on July 4. The event will feature live music and a re-enactment of the third reading of the Declaration of Independence that took place in 1776 in New Brunswick. Refreshments will be available.

Library to host events for school-age youngsters
      A variety of summer activities for schoolage children are planned at the East Brunswick Library, Jean Walling Civic Center. Admission is free of charge. All are welcome to attend. "Math Buddies," open to children entering grades 1-5, is set for 2-3 p.m, July 18 and 25, Aug. 1, 8 and 15. Youngsters will be paired one-on-one with teen volunteers to practice math skills.

Youth to hear offenders on drug, alcohol abuse
      South River Parks and Recreation will host a Project P.R.I.D.E. presentation at 9:30 a.m. on July 8 in the cafetorium at South River Middle School, 3 Montgomery St. The event, presented by the New Jersey Department of Corrections, will bring minimum-custody offenders from a state correctional facility to talk about their personal experiences with drugs and alcohol.

Donors sought for emergency blood drive
      New Jersey Blood Services will conduct an emergency blood drive from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 20 at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (17-year-olds need a parent's permission letter), weigh at least 110 pounds and may not have donated blood within the last 56 days.
