Born in Bethlehem, Pa., she resided in East Brunswick, Spotswood and Toms River before moving back to Spotswood a year ago. She was a bookkeeper/comptroller at Spotswood High School for four years prior to retiring in 1995.

Prior to his retirement in 1991, he owned and operated Val Lawnik Mason Contractors, South River, for more than 40 years.
