Luncheon to kick off ALR walk Aug. 12

aThe Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) will hold a luncheon to kick off the Central New Jersey Walk With Us to Cure Lupus Walkathon Aug. 12. The luncheon is free and open to all with an interest in finding a cure for lupus. For more information, call ALR at 732-842-1607.

The ALR walk will be held Oct. 4 at Rutgers University's Cook College, New Brunswick (rain or shine). Check-in begins at 9 a.m., and the walk at 10 a.m. All proceeds benefit lupus research. Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own tissues and can cause lifethreatening damage to major organs.
