Seeking weightlifting gloves, carry-on luggage, backpacks, breakaway pants (snaps along the leg), prepaid food cards, gift cards, phone cards. Collection boxes set up in the Monroe Township Municipal Building, 1 Municipal Plaza, and Jamesburg Borough Hall, 131 Perrineville Road. The Veterans Council of Monroe and Jamesburg plans a fall bus trip to deliver the supplies requested by the soldiers. All items must be new. Monetary contributions are not sought.

• Neil Diamond Concert Ticket Raffle, Somerset Patriots Baseball Vouchers and Spotswood T-Shirt Sale, sponsored by St. Peter's Episcopal Church Fundraising Committee. Proceeds help maintain the ministries of the national historic site and 251-year-old functioning parish, corner of Main Street and Devoe Avenue, Spotswood.
