For the past three years the Spotswood Cultural and Heritage Commission has worked diligently to create ways to celebrate the 100 years of incorporation of our borough. The results of all these efforts are memories that will linger long after the food at our large celebration at the Garden Falls/Stone Museum is gone, and the T-shirts and hats have faded and been discarded. In wars past, seeing a Blue Star Service Banner in the window of a home said a family member was in the armed forces of the United States. Today America is at war against terrorism, and Blue Star Service Banners are back. The sight of Blue Star Banner in a home is to remind us of the personal sacrifices being made to preserve our way of life. More ... Information is leaked that causes a newspaper to report that more than $16,000 in allowances for the superintendent of schools were being removed, when in fact they were made a permanent part of her salary.
