Board shouldn't be surprised that budgets are rejected

Does the East Brunswick Board of Education still wonder why budgets get voted down?

Information is leaked that causes a newspaper to report that more than $16,000 in allowances for the superintendent of schools were being removed, when in fact they were made a permanent part of her salary. A resident who tries to speak up about these allowances is not allowed to do so. It's no wonder our seniors resent our school tax; parents do, too.

Yet next year the board will certainly cry poor and beg for its new budget to be passed. What signal will we send them?
