      Raymond J. Cushing Jr.
            Mr. Cushing, 52, of Rahway, died Aug. 17, 2008, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Born in Bayonne, he resided in South Amboy for 25 years before moving to Rahway two years ago. He was employed by Boilermakers Local 28 in Bayonne, where he worked as business manager for 15 years.

      Angela "Dolly" Smith
            Mrs. Smith, 79, of Old Bridge, died Aug. 19, 2008, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was a Middlesex County committeewoman and a member of the Youth Guidance Committee and Rent Stabilization Board, all Old Bridge. Her husband, Harold F. Smith, died in 1993, and a daughter, Cecelia Farwell, died in 2008. Surviving are two sons, Harold G.

      Thomas Intoccia
            Thomas Intoccia, 76, died Aug. 18, 2008. Born in Jamaica, N.Y., he resided in East Brunswick and Woodbridge for many years. His 46 years of service to Northwest Airlines included a term as general chairman of IAM Air Transport District No. 143. Mr. Intoccia served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was predeceased by a brother, Adolph, and a sister, Constance.

      Gerasimos "Jerry" Hamilothoris
            Mr. Hamilothoris, 80, of South River, died Aug. 26, 2008, at home. He had resided in Keyport and Perth Amboy before relocating to South River 30 years ago. Mr. Hamilothoris was a baker for 40 years at DuVille Diner, East Brunswick, retiring in 1989.

      Audrey R. Mirault Pate
            Mrs. Pate, 77, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick, died Aug. 18, 2008, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a crossing guard for East Brunswick Public Schools before becoming a sales clerk with Continental Bakery, East Brunswick, where she worked for 25 years.       Anna M. Brechka Butler
            Mrs. Butler, 78, of the Deans section of South Brunswick, died Aug. 21, 2008, in Cranbury Center, Monroe. She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Edward and Joseph Brechka. Surviving are her husband, John O. Butler; two sons, Thomas Butler and Brian Butler, both of New York City; and a brother, George Brechka of Florida.

            Mrs. Burke, 93, of Old Bridge, died Aug. 26, 2008, in Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, Edward Burke, died in 1995. Surviving are a son, Edward Burke of East Brunswick; a daughter, Barbara Novak of Spotswood; a brother, George Wall of Winchester, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

      William L. Buffalino Sr.
            Mr. Buffalino, 70, of the Whiting section of Manchester, formerly of South River and Spotswood, died Aug. 25, 2008, in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was employed as a carpenter for more than 20 years with Carpenters Local No. 1006, Milltown. His wife, Rita A. Rosenberg Buffalino, died in 2003.

      Martha Cromwell Mather
            Mrs. Mather, 85, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 27, 2008, at home. A schoolteacher, she also taught Sunday school with the Unitarian Society of East Brunswick for 25 years. Her husband, Dr. Robert Mather, died in 1997, and her twin sister died in 2004. Surviving are a son, Dr. John Mather, and his wife, Jane, of Hyattsville, Md.
