      Golf greats on board for Forsgate classic
      Events include auction tournament, skins game, celebrity skills exhibition
            MONROE — Nancy Lopez, Fuzzy Zoeller and Amy Alcott will take part in this year's Sovereign Bank Charity Golf Classic, set for Sept. 22-23 at the Forsgate Country Club. The event will raise funds for the nonprofit Forsgate Foundation, which supports causes throughout New Jersey.

      Teel suffers through another lackluster performance in 44-12 loss
            Many of the Rutgers faithful may have thought the football team's season-opening 24-7 loss to Fresno State was merely an aberration. After the Scarlet Knights' most recent game, those on the bandwagon may want to think twice about riding on a vehicle with quickly deflating tires.

      Sayreville boys soccer on a two-game win streak
            After dropping its first game, the Sayreville High School boys soccer team has rebounded to win two straight matches. Coming off of what coach Nick Cifelli termed a "disappointing" 11-9 campaign, the Bombers opened the season at Colonia on Friday.

      Raritan Bay Cougars update
            Week 1 The Pop Warner season got underway last month when the Raritan Bay Cougars were hosted by the Monroe Wolverines. In the Junior Pee Wee game, the Raritan Bay Cougars' score was on a 60-yard run from Michael Torres. At the Pee Wee level, Raritan Bay Cougars defeated Monroe 32-7.
