Mrs. Sawyer, 77, of South River, died Aug. 31, 2008, at home. She was employed as a seamstress for more than 30 years, retiring from Mako Sportswear, South River. She was predeceased by her companion of 25 years, Frank Wojcik. Surviving are a son, Norman Sawyer, and his companion, Linda Cafaro; a daughter, Elizabeth Monteverde; two sisters, Mary Frindt of South Plainfield and Elizabeth Antonelli of Highland Park; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
