      South River girls soccer still in search of first win
            Despite a slow start, first-year coach Don Minto believes his South River High School girls soccer team will gets its share of wins before the campaign is out. The Rams are 0-5-1 on the year. Two of those losses have been by a single goal and another was a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Carteret.

            The East Brunswick Area Youth Wrestling Club is accepting registrations for the upcoming winter season. The program is open to youth in grades K-8 of all abilities from beginners to advanced and offers levels from practice-only squads to teams that compete against other local recreation wrestling programs and in team tournaments.

      OB boys soccer still in search of a few more wins
      Knights off to 1-3 start in '08
            Coming off of a big win on Monday against St. Joseph's, the Old Bridge High School boys soccer team is looking to carry the momentum forward. The Knights entered the contest with a 1-3 mark, needing to pick up a win to avoid getting too far below the .500 mark, in their quest to qualify for the NJSIAA playoffs.

            The Old Bridge Sharks girls U9 soccer team continued their hot streak and improved their record to 3-0 after their 2-1 victory over the Marlboro Blaze Gold on Sunday in Marlboro. Once again the Sharks applied the pressure early, but missed an opportunity after the Marlboro goalkeeper saved a penalty kick.
