With a unanimous vote, the South River Borough Council adopted the 2008 budget last week, which increases municipal taxes by 19 percent for South River residents. The adoption of the $14.7 million budget was delayed because borough officials were waiting to see if the state would grant their request for a waiver of the stateimposed 4 percent cap on tax levy increases. Scarlet Knights hold on late to defeat Huskies; team is now 2-5 on the season
Following two straight narrow defeats, many of the Rutgers football faithful felt the team was due to have things go their way for a change. Maybe it was time for quarterback Mike Teel to break out of his season-long slump, or time for Dom Natale to get his crack at running the team. Or perhaps the Scarlet Knights needed Tiquan Underwood to regain his 2007 form. More...
