      Mayor responds to criticism
Iwas not surprised to see that perennial Republican candidate Frank Coury has endorsed the Republican ticket in East Brunswick again this year. After 12 years of his criticisms of programs and policies of the Democrats, I feel compelled to once and for all set the record straight.

GOP fixing problems created by Dems
Ihave to laugh at how the Democrats are campaigning in South River. They are going around town blaming the Republicans for not working fast enough to fix the mess the Democrats left. The Republicans have had the majority for only 10 months. The Democrats were in power for over 10 years. It is going to take more than 10 months to fix the mess the Democrats left.

E.B. residents have some big issues to consider Nov. 4
We all look at developing situations or decisions made which affect our lives. We discuss or argue with our friends and neighbors (often passionately). I would like to share with the community a few of these "things to think about" which have come from recent conversations.

Real leaders offer solutions, not buzzwords
The buzzwords — both old and new — are making rounds in this year's election. Taking a page from Sarah Palin, the Republican choice for vice president who likes to position herself as the change candidate (an old buzzword) and a maverick (a new one),

Council needs checks and balance system
Frank Coury, in his letter to the editor, pointed out that millions of tax dollars were wasted by the East Brunswick all- Democrat mayor and council administration over the past eight years. That's understandable, considering there wasn't a real opposing voice on the council.

Pinkin's leadership need in East Brunswick
Rarely in recent history has an election held such importance for the future of East Brunswick and our children. This is a time for serious, dedicated and professional leadership. It is not a time for beginners to cut their teeth.

Stahl is a strong, honest leader
As a resident of many years in East Brunswick with my wife and children, I have been listening very carefully to what the mayoral candidates have been saying and doing during the course of the campaign. I like to base my vote with an understanding of what I have learned about the candidates. Here is what I have learned.

Kemp is right choice for mayor
East Brunswick is a great town and I'm very happy with the open space, park improvements and all the great services it provides. This is important because this year we will be electing a new mayor. I've studied the choices and Councilman Don Klemp seems to be the only one who has a record of accomplishments and is proposing meaningful plans for our future.
