The Old Bridge Lacrosse Association's spring season will begin March 1. Registration will be held at the South Old Bridge Fire Department on Englishtown Road and Appleby Avenue from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Applications can be downloaded at www.oldbridgelacrosse.com or picked up at registration. The registration fee is $130, which is nonrefundable.
Sayreville's pro wrestling fans will be recipients of a giant show presented by the Northeast's leading pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars, at the Sayreville Knights of Columbus Hall, 775 Washington Road (minutes from Route 9 and the Parkway) on Friday, Jan. 23, at 7:45 p.m. Partial proceeds will benefit the Rec Wrestling Team Parents Association and the Boy Scout and Cub Scout 97 troops
Sharing the bill in Sayreville will be the annual J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament featuring eight of the top tag-teams on the Northeast pro circuit today, including the 2008 winners, The Gemini Twins. Some of the great teams looking to dethrone the champions include The Stunt Doubles (popular area native Ryan Rumble and high-flier Mikey Pacifica) and, all the way from Delaware, the team known as Self- Employed (J.D. Smoothie and The Funky White Boy).
Tickets are $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors, and are available locally at Moe's Barber Shop, 775 Washington Road, and TJ's Pizza/Subs, Bordentown Avenue, both in Parlin; Minit Mart Convenience Store, Main Street, Sayreville; Rico's Barber Shop, North Broadway, South Amboy; and Villaggio's Food Emporium, Main Street, South River.
