The Tamburitzans to perform in Monroe The Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission will present The Tamburitzans in a multicultural performance set for 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Richard P. Marasco Center for the Performing Arts, Monroe Township High School, Perrineville Road. The troupe, based at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, will perform authentic Eastern European folk songs and dances while wearing handmade costumes. The ensemble is made up of young folk artists dedicated to the performance and preservation of the traditional music, song and dance of Eastern Europe and neighboring cultures. Tickets cost $18 for general admission, $15 for patrons; students will be admitted free of charge. Advance tickets are available at the Monroe Township Senior Center, 1 Municipal Plaza; at the Monroe Township Community Center, 120 Monmouth Road; and at the door two hours before the performance.
