      Free skiing voucher to go to blood donors
            Bracing for a sharp seasonal drop in the blood supply, New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) will collect blood throughout the state during January, National Blood Donor Month. A local drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in a NJBS bloodmobile parked at Pelican Pool & Ski Shops, 393 Route 18 south, East Brunswick.

      Tickets on sale for Casino Night
            The Spotswood Education Foundation will host a Mardi Gras Fat Friday Casino Night 7-11 p.m. Feb. 20 at Spotswood Knights of Columbus Hall, Crescent Avenue. Cost is $50 per person in advance and includes hot-and-cold hors d'oeuvres, desserts, beer, wine and soda. Individuals who purchase tickets by Feb. 10 will receive an extra $100 in "play" chips.

      Library to close, reopen for dedication
            The Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, will be closed to the public Jan. 26-Jan. 30. The newly renovated and expanded library will be dedicated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for 1 p.m. Jan. 31. Following the ceremony, the library will resume services to the public from 2-5 p.m.
