            This is an open letter to the mayor, the Township Council and the residents of East Brunswick. There has been a growing base of residents who have expressed concern regarding the proposed change in garbage service.

      Once-a-week pickup savings not worth it
            Iwould like to voice my opinion about the once-a-week garbage pickup Mayor David Stahl is proposing. I read that this would reduce the average tax per house by $20- $30 a year for a homeowner — that's a savings of about 50 cents a week. I ask the people of East Brunswick to do the math and see if they come up with the same amount of savings per week.

      Flat tax to fund education would require all to pay their fair share
            We New Jersey citizens are living with a regressive tax, and it seems the state legislators can't get together to correct the problem. Talk to any member of the Assembly or Senate, and they will agree that using our property tax to fund education is regressive and unfair. So why don't they do something about it?
