      Don't count out Chargers for Group II section title
            Spotswood High School boys basketball coach Steve Mate summed up the road that began last night for the Chargers, top-seeded in Central Jersey Group II, in accurate terms. "If we play like I know we can play, we should put ourselves in a good position to challenge for the sectional championship," Mate said.

            Tom Nawrot of East Brunswick, a senior at The College of New Jersey, won the 100-backstroke race in 52.38 as the men's and women's swimming and diving teams defeated their hosts, the Profs of Rowan University, recently to earn the 2008-09 New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship in both sports.
