      Don't cheat taxpayers with worn-out rhetoric
            It's that time of year again — budget season for both the school board and the municipality. The difference this year is that the proverbial chickens are coming home to roost. Mayor David Stahl is facing the predictable results of several years of Golden Triangle nonsense and the Board of Education needs to face up to many, many years of foolish spending.

      Thinks 'victory' for Board of Education marks 'a sad day'
            It's sad to see another curtailment of rights for Christians hailed as a "victory" for the Board of Education. In fact, the decision of the Supreme Court not to hear Coach Marcus Borden's case ("Game Over: Board of Ed Victorious Over Coach," Sentinel, March 5) amounts to a victory only for those who wish to see a Godless world shoved down the throats of American citizens.

      Don't let economic woes keep towns from investing in education
            I'm writing to express my support, in these troubling economic times, for the outstanding educational system in the state of New Jersey. Our schools are among the best, if not the very best, in the nation.
