The recent letter to the editor from Frank J. Coury ("On Economic Effect of Open Space Program," Sentinel, March 19) shows how one-sided his thinking is. Drive by the new Heavenly Farms facility day or night, and it is being used and enjoyed by local East Brunswick residents as well as others who are visiting. More ... One of New Jersey's contingency plans in the event that public unions do not accept pay cuts is to cut government services across-the-board through furloughs. Current plans call for the New Jersey Division of Taxation to be included in such cuts. Doing so would be like opening up fire hydrants during a drought … wholly absurd. More ... I read in the April 2 issue of the Sentinel that a Monroe Township Department of Public Works (DPW) worker was caught stealing $213 worth of gasoline. While I agree that his actions were wrong and certainly merited punishment, I believe that the punishment in this case far outweighs the crime. This case has shades of "Les Mis More ... We have an administration that is openly allied with the liberal green parties that refuse to consider building new reactors. More ... Why is reducing garbagecollection frequency good for us? The need to save money is what inspired the East Brunswick mayor and Township Council to propose reducing the number of garbage-collection days. Opponents of the proposal are concerned about accumulation of garbage between pickup days, and whether the saving is worth it. More ... |
