      Top prize is $15,000 in Milltown school raffle
            Our Lady of Lourdes School, Milltown, invites the public to participate in the school's annual Powerball Raffle. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Each ticket costs $50. A total of 20 prizes, including the grand prize of $15,000 (or 60 percent of the prize portion of ticket sales), will be awarded.

      Sounds of German choir to fill church
            The Schola Cantorum Leipzig will perform in concert at 6 p.m. May 3 at Christ Church, 5 Paterson St., New Brunswick. The choir is made up of 35 female singers ages 13-26 who are university students, apprentices and students at various schools in Leipzig, Germany.

A representative from Ashford and Grace Fine Jewelers will offer guests cash for their old, broken, used, mismatched or unwanted jewelry. The jeweler will donate a portion of its proceeds to the Milltown 4th of July celebration.

            The annual Spotswood 5K Challenge is set for May 2 beginning at Spotswood High School, 105 Summerhill Road. The 1-mile Fun Run will start at 8:30 a.m. The 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. Registration fee is $10 for youngsters ages 12 and under, $15 for individuals ages 13 and up.
