The 15th Annual Trusted Choice® Charity Golf Classic, to benefit the Make- A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey, will be held May 5 at Forsgate Country Club, 375 Forsgate Drive, Monroe. The eighth annual Industrial/Commercial Real Estate Women, Inc. (ICREW) golf classic will be held May 7 at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township beginning at 10 a.m.

The event will feature a scramble format for 100 golfers to play nine or 18 holes while 45 additional golfers participate in a beginner's clinic and then play nine holes. The fundraiser also includes a buffet lunch, a dinner reception and awards ceremony as well as a silent auction and a raffle.

Proceeds will benefit Play For PINK, a nonprofit organization that advocates for prevention, immediate diagnosis, new technology, and knowledge in the battle against breast cancer.

Founded in 1982, the nonprofit ICREW of New Jersey promotes communication and interaction between experienced professionals in all facets of the commercial real estate industry.

The East Brunswick Baseball League will host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth Saturday, May 9, at East Brunswick's Manager's Field, Dunhams Corner Road. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., the contest at 9 a.m. Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All-Star Game.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All- Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/ waiver form prior to the start of the competition.

A 5K Race and a 1-Mile Fun Run will be held in Spotswood May 2. The one-mile event is set for 8:30 a.m. The 5K will start at 9 a.m. Registration is $10 for youngsters ages 12 and under, $15 for individuals ages 13 and up. Race day registration will be 7- 8:15 a.m. T-shirts will go to all advanced registered runners and while they last on race day. Jeremiah Lachaud of East Brunswick, a junior at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., helped the school's men's track and field team place fourth at the Indoor Centennial Conference Championship meet. Lachaud earned a silver medal in the 55- meter dash at the meet, running a time of 6.68. He also placed second as a member of the 4x200 meter relay team, which ran an ECAC-qualifying time of 1:33.72. Lachaud also competed in the 200 meters for the Mules. The men's team just missed third place by one point and second place by two points. The Mules improved their standing from last year by two places.
