The East Brunswick Baseball League will host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth Saturday, May 9, at East Brunswick's Manager's Field, Dunhams Corner Road. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., the contest at 9 a.m. Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All-Star Game.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All- Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/ waiver form prior to the start of the competition.

Beginner through advanced golfers age 7 to 19 can enroll in hour-long weekly sessions for First Tee Spring Training at Tamarack Golf Course, East Brunswick. Sessions will be held 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 1 to 2 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Day and time of class depend on age and ability. Spring session begins May 16. Weeklong summer camps are available 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday beginning June 13. Call for more information: 732-247-0819.
