      Suburban schools entitled to state aid
            Iwould like to thank the residents of Monroe for taking the time to come out and vote in the last school board election and for helping me win a seat on the Board of Education. While campaigning, I met and spoke with many residents who voiced their opinions on the betterment of education for their children as well as their suggestions for the board.

      Open forts to housing for homeless veterans
            There are about 20 million U.S. military veterans ages 20-90 in the U.S.A. About 500,000 of them are homeless, and who knows how many are unemployed. Congress should consider making surplus government housing available to homeless veterans. Places like Governors Island, Fort Hancock and Fort Monmouth have thousands of housing units that are empty.

      Board has worked to keep superintendent search an open enterprise
            This letter is written in response to "Board Being Secretive About Selection Process for Superintendent" (Letters to the Editor, Sentinel, May 21). In the letter, the author wondered, "What is the Spotswood Board of Education up to now?" and then went on to list a number of suppositions that are entirely inaccurate.
