Mr. Gonnella, 43, of Old Bridge, formerly of Spotswood, died May 24, 2009, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 2006, he was employed as a welder with Ford Motor Co., Edison, where he worked for 18 years. His father, Donato Gonnella, died in 1990. Surviving are his wife, Patti Dobos Gonnella; his mother, Hazel Gonnella of Spotswood; four brothers, Dan, and his wife, Julie, of Jackson, John, and his wife, Colleen, and Ricky, and his fiancée, Stephanie Selvaggio, all of Spotswood, and Michael, and his wife, Linda, of Georgia; two sisters, Angela Gonnella, and her fiancé, George Bandara, of East Windsor and Nicole Jackson, and her husband, Phil, of Spotswood; a godson; and a niece.
