      Trojans lose title game in extra innings

      Monroe girls softball achieved much in '09
      Coach Hudak: Might have flirted with the 20-win mark
            For the record, Monroe High School's softball team finished 15-6, which to those associated with the Falcons' program, is an average season. However, considering the untested talent on the squad, head coach Keith Hudak considers this past spring a "great year.

      SHS girls softball team ties record for victories
            Spotswood High School's (SHS) softball team can look back at the season just completed with satisfaction and pride at mission accomplished. The Chargers finished with a 15-9 record, which tied the school record for victories in a season. And, the team managed its No. 1 goal and that was to qualify for the state tournament.

            The third annual Bocce Invitational Tournament will be held 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Colonial Park, Mettlers Road, in Somerset, June 20. Hundreds of amateur and professional bocce players are expected to compete in the daylong event that features matches in both amateur and professional categories.
