      Second-year market moved to church lot on Gatzmer Ave.
      It's a bigger market and officials hope a better one as well. The Jamesburg Farmers Market opened Saturday, a week earlier than last year's inaugural run, with more vendors and a new location. The vendors that last year set up shop on Saturdays along West Railroad Avenue can now be found in the lot outside the Jamesburg Presbyterian Church, Gatzmer Avenue and Church Street. More...
      Expenses down, but not nearly as much as revenue

      Once faced with a municipal tax increase of more than 40 cents due to a severe revenue shortfall, East Brunswick officials are now looking at about half that increase. During its June 8 meeting, the Township Council approved a budget resolution that reduced the budget further and lowered the proposed tax increase from 23 cents to 20 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.       STEVEN M. BARON A 2001 Chevrolet minivan sits lodged in the side wall of Denny's restaurant on Route 18 around 11:45 a.m. June 10. Police said Estelle Glatter, 49, of Edison, was pulling into a parking stall when she accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake and struck the building. The vehicle shattered a window and caused minor structural damage to the building. The driver was treated at the scene after East Brunswick police, firefighters and a Trans-Med workers responded.       Hamilton not content with a good school system

      Monroe Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Hamilton sees himself as an educator who truly believes that his work is his mission.       The East Brunswick Police Department (EBPD) will hold its fourth annual Youth Police Academy July 6-10. The program is open to youngsters ages 11-14 who reside or attend school in East Brunswick.       Mr. Siatkowski, 101, of South River, died June 4, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Poland, he had lived in South River since 1950. Prior to his retirement 35 years ago, he was employed as a chemical operator for Oakite Corp, Metuchen. During World War II, he served in the Polish, French and British armies. More...
