Nicholas Fama Jr.
Mr. Fama, 87, of North Brunswick and Indiana, died June 30, 2009, at Regency Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Somerset. He resided in Old Bridge for more than 35 years, prior to relocating to North Brunswick and Indiana. He was a custodian at Cedar Ridge School for the Old Bridge Board of Education, retiring in 1986. Prior to that, he was employed at Franklin Township High School, Mack Truck and the Raritan Arsenal. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Rita Blakeney Fama, in 2005; five brothers, Charles, Frank, Carmen, Anthony and Sam; and two sisters, Catherine White and Sara Gallichio. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Hand and Judith Carroll, and a son, Nicholas Fama III, all of North Brunswick; a brother, Joseph Fama of New Jersey; a sister, Mary Catalano of New Brunswick; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. Burial followed at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
