Sky Blue FC and Saint Peter's Healthcare System team up for the BE WELL! Health Fair beginning 5:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in the Yurcak Field parking lot at Rutgers University, Piscataway. The health fair will precede the final home game of the regular Women's Professional Soccer season against FC Gold Pride at 7 p.m. The fair features a Community Mobile Health Services facility to host osteoporosis screening, as well as blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, body mass index and nutrition counseling, and breast health and sun safety information. The event is free and open to the public. Additional events include an "Ask the Doctor" segment with physicians from University Orthopedic Group, a Pizza Hut tailgate party, a Celebrate Brazil! theme night with a meet & greet with Brazilian players, and a charity auction of the team jerseys to win the "Shirts Off Our Backs," with proceeds to benefit Botswana Coaching for Conservation, a soccer program in Africa, with Ashley's Soccer Camp.

A 2009 Field Hockey Camp, run by Sticks Down Field Hockey, will be held Aug. 10-14, 9 a.m. to noon, atCarl SandburgMiddle School, Route 516, Old Bridge. Old Bridge High School field hockey coach Tammy Heitmann will coordinate the program with assistance from the school's field hockey program. The camp, for kids ages 10 to 15 from the greater Middlesex County area, is designed to give beginner-level players a basic understanding of the game of field hockey and to improve the basic skills to lead to better play. No experience is necessary. Equipment will be supplied, if needed, but participants must bring mouth guards. East Brunswick/Spotswood Golden Bear Chargers are looking for head coaches in their Jr. Pee Wee and Mitey Mite Cheer Levels. Assistant coaches in all levels are needed to provide discipline and guidance. Previous cheer experience not required. Sideline cheers are supplied and teams' routines are provided for competition. Practice is Aug. 1-October. East Brunswick 2008 Pee Wee Cheer Program are National Champs and Midget level are undefeated Eastern Region Champs.
