      N.J. candidates for governor must define role
            For the first time, New Jersey voters will select a lieutenant governor along with a governor in November, but many are unaware or confused about the role the lieutenant governor will play. Soon candidates for governor will announce their picks — and speculation abounds — but not much has been said about the responsibilities and powers of a lieutenant governor.

      Foerter Farm should be protected from development
            In keeping with our mission of responsible stewardship of our watershed, the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership has paid close attention to the application before the East Brunswick Planning Board to build 10 huge houses adjacent to Farrington Lake on Riva Avenue's Foerter Farm. We have several concerns regarding the effect this development could have upon the area.

      Committee works to make Main St. a better place
            On July 16, the Sentinel ran an article titled, "Milltown shop owner to sell strictly via web," about the impending closing of Ommie's Treasures, a children's clothing shop in Millltown. In the article, the owner of Ommie's, Emily Lovuolo, lamented the absence of a chamber of commerce in Milltown, and stated that the town was not "commerce-oriented.
