Mrs. Cannata, 89, of Spotswood, died Aug. 1, 2009, in Victoria House, Matawan. Her husband, John J. Sr., died in 2007. Surviving are a son, John Jr., and his wife, Peggy, of Stanhope; a daughter, Georgina Moody, and her husband, Clifford, of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister, Lucy Quaglari, and her husband, Julio, of Albany, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in Moravian Cemetery, State Island, N.Y. Arrangements were under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home.
