Surita Gran

Mrs. Gran, 80, of the Lake Nelson section of Piscataway, died Aug. 30, 2009. Prior to her retirement, she was a special-education teacher in Irvington and Piscataway. Her husband, Howard, died in 2002, and a daughter, Martha Woodruff, died in 2005. Surviving are two daughters, Abby Christensen of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Rachel Gran of Red Bank; a sister-in-law, Edie Polansky of Edison; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, New Brunswick. Interment was in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were under the direction of Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.
